The world's response to Hurricane Katrina was truely amazing. People who had nothing to do with the natural disaster opened there hearts and wallets and donated to try and help. The trend seemed to be that the countries and regions that were closest to where Hurricane Katrina hit, were the most generous and compassionate, as well as the countries like Australia that are 1st world and alies.
